Make plans for University of Incarnite Word’s ‘Light the Way’ event

UIW Holiday Festival

This year, the University of Incarnate Word will start the ‘Light the Way‘ sponsored by H-E-B event a little bit earlier than previous years according to their Facebook event. This year UIW will be flipping the switch to thousands upon thousands of twinkling colorful lights on their campus on Saturday, November 17th.

The party starts at 3pm festival style featuring food trucks, a area for kids to take photos with Santa, a kiddie train, and even decorate a festive cookie all courtesy of Bird Bakery.

On top of that, you can shop the 40 vendors inside the Holiday Shoppe to get a jump start on Christmas shopping if you already haven’t done so.

There will be live entertainment and performances on kick-off day with the lights flipping on at 6:30pm.

Admission is free and open to the public. Parking on campus? The entrance at the Highway 281 gate will be open and all other gates will be closed off for public safety. If the parking lots on the campus fill up, there is an overflow area to park at the AT&T lot across Hildebrand.

They’ll be collecting new unused toys for the Elf Louise Project, so bring them.
