SAN ANTONIO โ The City of San Antonio Public Works Department marked the completion of the Losoya Street Improvements Project on February 17, celebrating alongside Centro San Antonio and local stakeholders.
While not the largest construction effort in the downtown area, officials emphasized the importance of the corridor, which serves as a key connector between the The Alamo, the San Antonio River Walk, Broadway and the South Alamo corridor.
The project included road repaving and sidewalk repairs designed to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, businesses and motorists who rely on the downtown route daily. City leaders described the street as a vital link that supports foot traffic, tourism and local commerce in one of San Antonioโs most visited districts.
Construction began on January 5, 2026, with an expected completion date of January 30, 2026. The work was finalized a little over a month after it began.
Public Works officials thanked area stakeholders and Centro San Antonio for their collaboration throughout the process, noting that coordinated efforts helped minimize disruptions while enhancing the corridorโs long-term functionality.
With the improvements now complete, Losoya Street continues to serve as a central pathway connecting some of San Antonioโs most iconic destinations.
