Los Arcos at VIDA Welcomes Families, Sets New Standard for Affordable Housing in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (January 29, 2025) – The long-awaited Los Arcos at VIDA is now officially open, welcoming families into 324 newly completed rental homes on the city’s Southside. This milestone marks the first rental production community supported by San Antonio’s voter-approved 2022 Affordable Housing Bond, alongside federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The project contributes to the more than 650 homes that have been completed with funding from the Affordable Housing Bond, bringing much-needed housing opportunities to the rapidly growing area.
A Landmark Achievement in Affordable Housing
“Based on a shared vision of equity and opportunity, Los Arcos at VIDA sets a new standard for community-driven solutions and will truly redefine what affordable housing looks and feels like in San Antonio,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “This is truly a benchmark moment for the City, the dedicated workers with the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department who made this happen, and the voters who knew the potential of the Affordable Housing Bond.”
The $81.37 million development, located in District 4, was led by The NRP Group in partnership with the San Antonio Housing Trust Public Facility Corporation. It was funded through a combination of local and federal resources, including:
- $2.06 million from the 2022 Affordable Housing Bond
- $942,054 in Neighborhood Stabilization Program grant funds
- $2.25 million in federal HOME Investment Partnerships grant funding
Providing Housing for Families at Various Income Levels
Los Arcos at VIDA ensures affordability for a broad range of households by offering rental units at different Area Median Income (AMI) levels:
- 49 homes at 30% AMI
- 161 homes at 60% AMI
- 114 homes at 70% AMI
The complex features a mix of housing options, including:
- 12 one-bedroom apartments
- 132 two-bedroom apartments
- 144 three-bedroom apartments
- 36 four-bedroom apartments

District 4 Councilmember Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia celebrated the opening, emphasizing the importance of balancing economic growth with accessible housing:
