Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Weekend Closures Announced at I-10 Interchange

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced a series of nighttime and daytime closures this weekend at the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project. The closures will accommodate critical bridge construction activities and are expected to affect traffic flow near La Cantera Parkway, The Rim, and the I-10 corridor.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead, follow detour signage, and allow extra travel time, as lane restrictions will be in place Friday, October 31, through Sunday, November 2, 2025, weather permitting.

🚧 FRIDAY & SUNDAY NIGHT CLOSURES

🕘 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. — Friday, Oct. 31 & Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025

Closures Include:

  • Eastbound (EB) Loop 1604 mainlanes (alternating closures at the interchange)

  • EB I-10 frontage road from Via La Cantera to Loop 1604

  • Westbound (WB) I-10 frontage road north of the interchange

  • La Cantera Parkway intersection at I-10

Law enforcement officers will assist in directing traffic through intersections.

Detours:

  • WB Loop 1604 to WB I-10: Exit before the interchange, U-turn at Kyle Seale Parkway, and follow EB Loop 1604 frontage to reconnect with WB I-10.

  • Alternate Route: Use the EB I-10 flyover ramp and U-turn at De Zavala Road to return to WB I-10.

🚧 SATURDAY NIGHT CLOSURE

🕘 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 – 12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025

Closures Include:

  • Eastbound Loop 1604 mainlanes at the interchange

  • EB I-10 frontage road from Via La Cantera to Loop 1604

  • WB I-10 frontage road north of the interchange

  • La Cantera Parkway intersection at I-10

Detours:

  • EB Loop 1604 drivers will exit to the frontage road before the interchange and re-enter after I-10.

  • WB Loop 1604 drivers can re-enter the mainlanes after the interchange or follow the Kyle Seale Parkway detour to reach WB I-10.

🚧 WEEKEND DAYTIME CLOSURES

🕕 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 & 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025

Closures Include:

  • WB I-10 frontage road north of the interchange

Law enforcement will be on-site to assist with traffic control.

Detours:

  • WB Loop 1604 to WB I-10: Exit before the interchange, U-turn at Kyle Seale Parkway, and rejoin WB I-10.

  • Alternate Route: Follow EB I-10 via flyover ramp, U-turn at De Zavala Road, and re-enter WB I-10.
