Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Upcoming Closures and Detour Information

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced a series of overnight and weekend road closures as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project. These closures are necessary for bridge construction and bent cap placement and will affect multiple lanes and ramps around the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange.

Friday Night Closures:
Closures will begin on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at 9 p.m. and continue until Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at 5 a.m. Affected areas include:
– I-10 Westbound Collector-Distributor at the Loop 1604 Interchange
– I-10 Westbound Frontage Road from Loop 1604 to La Cantera Parkway
– I-10 Eastbound Mainlanes and Collector-Distributor at the Loop 1604 Interchange
– Loop 1604 Westbound Mainlanes and Collector-Distributor at the I-10 Interchange
– Loop 1604 Eastbound Mainlanes from Vance Jackson Road Exit Ramp to the Lockhill Selma Road Entrance Ramp
– All Four Cloverleaf Ramps
– Loop 1604 Westbound to I-10 Westbound Exit Ramp
– I-10 Westbound to Loop 1604 Eastbound Exit Ramp

Saturday Night Closures:
On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, from 9 p.m. until Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at 5 a.m., the following areas will be closed:
– I-10 Westbound Collector-Distributor at the Loop 1604 Interchange
– I-10 Westbound Frontage Road from Loop 1604 to La Cantera Parkway
– I-10 Eastbound Mainlanes and Collector-Distributor at the Loop 1604 Interchange
– Loop 1604 Westbound Mainlanes and Collector-Distributor at the I-10 Interchange
– All Four Cloverleaf Ramps
– Loop 1604 Westbound to I-10 Westbound Exit Ramp

Weekend Closures:
A weekend-long closure is scheduled from 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2024. During this time, the following will be closed:
– I-10 Westbound Collector-Distributor at the Loop 1604 Interchange
– I-10 Westbound Frontage Road from Loop 1604 to La Cantera Parkway
– Loop 1604 Eastbound to I-10 Westbound Cloverleaf Ramp
– Loop 1604 Westbound to I-10 Westbound Exit Ramp

Detour Information:
Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time during these closures. Key detours include:

– Loop 1604 WB to I-10 WB: Exit Loop 1604 WB to the frontage road before the I-10 interchange, turn left onto I-10 EB frontage road, and utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard.

– Loop 1604 EB to I-10 WB: Exit Vance Jackson Road to Loop 1604 EB frontage road and follow signs for I-10 EB. Utilize the turnaround at UTSA Boulevard for access to I-10 WB.

– I-10 WB Frontage Road South of Loop 1604: Travelers on I-10 WB frontage road should turn left onto Loop 1604 WB frontage road and follow detour routes for access to I-10 WB via UTSA Boulevard.

Local law enforcement will be onsite to direct traffic. Drivers are urged to stay updated on potential changes, as all closures are weather permitting and subject to adjustment.
