Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Road Closures Scheduled for Barrier Relocation
San Antonio, TX โ As part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced upcoming road closures affecting the eastbound lanes of Loop 1604 near Hausman Road and Kyle Seale Parkway. The closures are scheduled for both a night closure and a weekend closure, which will impact travel in the area.
Night Closure: Feb. 7-8, 2025
Time: 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, until 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025
Location: Loop 1604 Eastbound (EB) mainlanes from the Hausman Road Exit Ramp to the Kyle Seale Parkway Entrance Ramp
What to Expect:
During this closure, construction crews will be relocating barriers as part of the expansion project.
Detour Information:
- All eastbound travelers on Loop 1604 will need to exit at Hausman Road and continue along the eastbound frontage road through the intersections of Hausman Road and Kyle Seale Parkway.
- Travelers can re-enter Loop 1604 eastbound at the first available entrance ramp after Kyle Seale Parkway.
Weekend Closure: Feb. 8-10, 2025
Time: 7 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, until 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2025
Locations Impacted:
- Loop 1604 EB Exit Ramp to Hausman Road
- Loop 1604 EB Entrance Ramp after Bandera Road
- Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes Right Lane from the Hausman Road exit ramp to Kyle Seale Parkway
- Loop 1604 EB Frontage Road Left Lane from the Hausman Road exit ramp to Kyle Seale Parkway
What to Expect:
This closure is necessary for continued barrier relocation and the opening of a new eastbound entrance ramp from Bandera Road. Once the closure concludes, the new entrance ramp will open just east of the old one, which will be permanently closed.
Detour Information:
- Loop 1604 EB travelers needing access to Hausman Road, Kyle Seale Parkway, or Babcock Road must exit at Bandera Road and continue along the Loop 1604 EB frontage road.
- Loop 1604 EB frontage road travelers looking to enter the mainlanes must continue on the frontage road and use the entrance ramp after Kyle Seale Parkway.
