Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Nightly Lane Closures Scheduled for October 25–26

San Antonio, TX – As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced scheduled lane closures for paving operations along Loop 1604 beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 25, and continuing until noon on Saturday, October 26. The closures, which will affect both westbound and eastbound lanes, are weather-dependent and may be adjusted if necessary.

Closure Details

Westbound Frontage Road: Lane closures will occur from Kyle Seale Parkway to east of the Hausman Road intersection, affecting the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Additionally, alternating lane closures will extend from the Hausman Road exit ramp to Bandera Road. During this time, at least one thru lane will remain open for travelers.

Eastbound Mainlane: The right lane of the Loop 1604 EB mainlane will be closed from the exit ramp after Bandera Road to the entrance ramp at Champions Gate.

Detour Information

Kyle Seale Parkway to Loop 1604 WB: For westbound travelers on Kyle Seale Parkway, traffic will continue straight through the Loop 1604 intersection, make a left turn onto the Loop 1604 EB frontage road toward Babcock Road, and take the turnaround back onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road. Travelers can then merge onto the Loop 1604 WB mainlanes via the new entrance ramp or exit just before Hausman Road to re-enter the Loop 1604 WB frontage road.
This temporary closure will facilitate paving work as part of TxDOT’s ongoing efforts to expand Loop 1604. Travelers are encouraged to plan alternate routes, expect minor delays, and remain alert to posted detour signs. For further updates on project progress and road conditions, visit the TxDOT website or follow @TxDOTSanAntonio on social media.

All closures are contingent upon weather conditions and may be modified.
