Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Nightly Closures at I-10 Interchange Scheduled for March 7-10
SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 6, 2025) – As part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will implement overnight closures at the Loop 1604 & I-10 interchange from March 7 through March 10, 2025 to continue bridge construction.
To minimize disruption during Spring Break, these closures will only take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.. Law enforcement officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with traffic flow, and detour signage will be in place to guide drivers through alternate routes.
Closure Schedule & Affected Areas
Friday, March 7 – Saturday, March 8 (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
Closures include:
🚧 Loop 1604 Eastbound (EB) mainlanes from Vance Jackson Rd. exit ramp to Lockhill Selma Rd. entrance ramp
🚧 Loop 1604 Westbound (WB) mainlanes from Lockhill Selma Rd. exit ramp to the entrance ramp west of I-10
🚧 I-10 EB frontage road from Via La Cantera to the Loop 1604 interchange and south of the interchange
🚧 I-10 WB bypass lane at the Loop 1604 interchange and exit ramp to Loop 1604 EB
🚧 All cloverleaf exit ramps
Saturday, March 8 – Monday, March 10 (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
Closures include:
🚧 Loop 1604 WB mainlanes from exit ramp to I-10 frontage road to the entrance ramp after the I-10 interchange
🚧 I-10 EB frontage road from Via La Cantera to Loop 1604 interchange and south of the interchange
🚧 I-10 WB bypass lane at the Loop 1604 interchange
🚧 All cloverleaf exit ramps
Detour Information
Loop 1604 EB Mainlanes
🔄 Detour Route: Exit at Vance Jackson Rd. and continue on the Loop 1604 EB frontage road. Drivers can re-enter via the Lockhill Selma Rd. entrance ramp.
Loop 1604 WB Mainlanes & I-10 EB Access
🔄 Detour Route: Exit at Lockhill Selma Rd., continue on the Loop 1604 WB frontage road, and re-enter after I-10. To reach I-10 EB, follow the Loop 1604 WB frontage road to I-10 WB frontage road, turn around at La Cantera Pkwy, and enter I-10 EB.
I-10 EB Frontage Road & Loop 1604 EB/WB Access
🔄 Detour Route: Enter I-10 EB mainlanes just south of La Cantera Pkwy, exit at 557, and re-enter the I-10 EB frontage road. To access Loop 1604 EB, use the UTSA Blvd. turnaround to enter the I-10 WB frontage road, then merge onto Loop 1604 EB frontage road and re-enter via Lockhill Selma Rd. entrance ramp. For Loop 1604 WB, turn onto Via La Cantera and continue to Loop 1604 WB frontage road.
I-10 WB Mainlanes to Loop 1604 WB
🔄 Detour Route: Exit 556B (just north of UTSA Blvd.), continue on the I-10 WB frontage road, turn left onto the Loop 1604 WB frontage road, and re-enter via the first entrance ramp after I-10 interchange.
