Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Nightly Closure Notice: April 22 – 27, 2024

**Loop 1604 North Expansion Project: Nightly Closure Notice**

*San Antonio, TX* – As part of the ongoing Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has issued a major closure notice for the NW Military Highway intersection at Loop 1604. This nightly full closure is scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday, April 22, 2024, until Saturday, April 27, 2024. The closure encompasses both northbound and southbound lanes of NW Military Highway, as well as the associated turnarounds.

The closure is necessary for the setting of beams at NW Military Highway for bridge widening as part of the expansion project. Weather permitting, these nightly closures will proceed as scheduled. However, all closures are subject to change and modification as deemed necessary by project officials. During the closure periods, local law enforcement will be on hand to direct traffic through intersections.

Drivers should be aware of detour routes in place to navigate around the closure:

**For Eastbound Frontage Road to NW Military Highway Northbound (NB):**
– Loop 1604 eastbound frontage road traffic and NW Military Highway traffic will utilize the eastbound frontage road to turnaround at Bitters Road. Traffic will then proceed on the westbound frontage road back to NW Military Highway northbound.

**For Westbound Frontage Road to NW Military Highway Southbound (SB):**
– Loop 1604 westbound frontage road traffic and NW Military Highway traffic will use the westbound frontage road to turnaround at Lockhill Selma Road. Traffic will then continue on the eastbound frontage road back to NW Military Highway southbound.

It’s important to note that all closures are contingent upon weather conditions and may be subject to change. Additionally, drivers should anticipate potential additional closures along the project corridor as work progresses.
