As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure in the San Antonio area, the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project is set to cause significant disruptions this weekend. Commencing from 9 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, until 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2024, a series of closures will affect key intersections and lanes, impacting traffic flow in the region.
The closures, which include sections of Loop 1604 Eastbound Mainlanes, Collector-Distributor, and Frontage Road at the I-10 Interchange, as well as I-10 Westbound Collector-Distributor at the Loop 1604 Interchange, are necessary for bridge construction and bent cap replacement as part of the expansion project.
This weekend’s closures represent a crucial phase in the development of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, a venture aimed at alleviating congestion and improving connectivity in the area. However, these closures are expected to cause disruptions for motorists traveling through the affected areas.
