Local radio talent announces he has rare type of cancer

The afternoon radio DJ Russell Rush for 96.1 Now just announced that he has been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called T-Cell Lymphoma.
“I got into radio to make the fun big announcements. Like the big concerts, the big events. I’ve never really dreamed to make an announcement like this.” Russell addressed his fans listening on the radio.
In an emotional video to social media, Russell said that there is no cure for the cancer and just treatment. Russell mentioned he started radiation therapy on Monday and will have more radiation therapy.
