Ladino to Host “Sun & Spice Brunch” with Chef Nicola Blaque

SAN ANTONIO, TX — A one-day culinary collaboration is bringing together two celebrated kitchens in San Antonio for a brunch experience inspired by bold global flavors.

Ladino, the Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded Mediterranean grill house from Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, will team up with Chef Nicola Blaque of The Jerk Shack and Freight Fried Chicken for the “Sun & Spice Brunch” on Sunday, March 29.

The event will blend Mediterranean and Caribbean influences, highlighting coastal ingredients, vibrant spices, and shared culinary traditions. Guests can expect a menu designed for both sharing and individual dining, showcasing the creative styles of both culinary teams.

The brunch begins with a selection of dishes for the table, including Shepphard’s Salad with fresh vegetables, Black-Eyed Peas Hummus with garlic confit and chili crisp, and Saltfish & Olive Tapenade served with grilled bread. Additional starters include a Plantain-Halloumi Skewer glazed with jerk honey and Cauliflower Massala with fire-roasted peppers.

Entrée options feature a range of bold, flavor-driven dishes such as Baked Eggs with miso-pistachio romesco, Green Sauce Grilled Quail with crispy potatoes, Jerk Lamb Hummus with green tahini, and Red Snapper topped with mango escoviche and Caribbean green onion schug.

Guests can also order the Quinn Amman à la carte, a pastry filled with guava custard and finished with ginger and cardamom sugar.

The brunch will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ladino, located at 200 E. Grayson Street in San Antonio. Tickets are priced at $45 per person and are available through OpenTable.

The collaboration highlights San Antonio’s growing culinary scene, bringing together award-winning chefs to create a unique, one-day dining experience centered on bold flavors and cultural connection.
