The La Vernia community is coming together to support the family of Clayton Kloesel, a beloved local and CPS Energy lineman who tragically lost his life while restoring power after a recent storm. In a heartfelt social media post, Sammy’s Mexican Restaurant announced their commitment to aiding the Kloesel family.

“We take care of our own!” the post declared, announcing that 15% of all sales on Friday, August 2nd will be donated to Kloesel’s family. The restaurant’s gesture is a testament to the profound impact Kloesel had on the community. Known for his friendly demeanor and dedication, Kloesel, a 32-year-old La Vernia resident, was a cherished member of the community.

Kloesel lost his life in a tragic accident while working on a utility pole in west Bexar County. Despite the utility workers’ belief that the power had been cut to the line, a sudden surge proved fatal. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the community.

Reflecting on his legacy, Sammy’s Mexican Restaurant shared, “Clay knew no strangers, and was one of a kind. If you knew Clay you know he always had the biggest smile and the biggest heart.” The post continued, “We had the privilege of knowing him and his family. As we mourn the loss of our dear friend, please continue to keep his family in your prayers.”

Sammy’s Mexican Restaurant is located at 13520 US-87, La Vernia, TX 78121, and invites the community to come together and support the Kloesel family while enjoying delicious food. The proceeds from the day’s sales will help alleviate the financial burden on the family during this challenging time.

The La Vernia community’s outpouring of support is a poignant reminder of the close-knit bonds that hold it together, even in times of profound loss.
