Kayak the downtown RiverWalk area for the first time in 30 years

During normal times, downtown is hustling and bustling with walks of life from all over the globe. Now that we’re in the middle of a global COVID-19 pandemic, San Antonio is at a stand-still, well at least for the River Walk area of the city where tour boats go back and forth showing off our beautiful city. For the first time in 30 years they’re allowing paddle kayaks in the business district of the river.

Don’t miss out on this perfect opportunity to take an adventure and take advantage of a barge-less river to kayak in the “no-paddle” zone of the downtown River Walk area in the business district.

That means you can take a self-guided tour at your own pace to see a different point of view of your beautiful San Antonio from this rare opportunity. Mission Adventure Tours are offering kayak tours at $50 plus fees and runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings in available time slots.

Act quickly because this opportunity will only last until the end of October. Who knows when you’ll again get this opportunity.

If you do end up going on this awesome adventure please keep in mind that parking is not included in the rental fee. Lather up in sunscreen and bring a water bottle on your trip. Expect to get a little wet as guests will stand in a few inches of water to get in and out of the kayak in the beginning and at the end of the trip. Bring a bag to keep your keys and cell phone dry. Mission Kayak also rents out waterproof bags for $5. Also note that the water will be flat at all areas so there are no rapids to worry about.

All people in the kayak must wear a life jacket at all times and participants should not get out on any banks of the river. There are no coolers or alcoholic beverages allowed.
