Texas-Crafted Brew Celebrates Local Heritage and German Brewing Traditions
SAN ANTONIO – March 24, 2025 – JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa proudly announces its collaboration with renowned local craft brewery Pinthouse Brewing to introduce the Hill Country Kölsch beer. This refreshing, easy-to-drink Blonde Ale is now available on tap at the resort’s eight dining venues as well as Pinthouse Brewing locations.
Specially crafted for JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, Hill Country Kölsch carries an ABV of 5%. Inspired by the natural splendor of Texas Hill Country, this beer combines traditional German brewing methods integral to Central Texas’ vibrant craft beer scene. Blending imported barley, Texas Pilsner malts, and hops including Hallertau Blanc and Tettnang, this Kölsch delivers a balanced, flavorful experience celebrating both local ingredients and classic European brewing techniques.

Originating from Cologne, Germany, the Kölsch style is renowned for its crisp, clean finish and subtle fruity notes, achieved through a distinctive yeast strain. This particular yeast has been Pinthouse Brewing’s house strain for 13 years, marking the brewery’s first major production of Kölsch.
