Jesse Borrego helps celebrate 25 years of ‘Rio Bravo’

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is celebrating the return of “Rio Bravo”. In July of 1994, the GCAC presented “Rio Bravo” for the first time bringing music and life from both sides of the Texas/Mexico border.

The historic visual of color and choreography is celebrating 25 years with special guest Jesse Borrego. Borrego is a native San Antonian and film star famous for playing Cruz Candelaria in Blood In Blood Out.

“In one engaging show the audience gets to see the development of several forms that are deeply cherished by the South Texas community.” said Belinda Menchaca, GCAC Education Director. “The relationships we’ve established with masters such as Rafael Zamarripa are deeply important to keeping these ever-evolving traditions alive.”

Borrego will be performing along with the Guadalupe Dance Company and many talents on Friday, October 4th at the Guadelupe Theater. Tickets are still available.
