San Antonio, TX – January 29, 2025 – The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is making a powerful impact on food security in San Antonio while in town for its annual business conference. Through generous contributions from leading dairy companies, the San Antonio Food Bank is receiving truckloads of dairy products and nearly $40,000 in financial support to help combat hunger in Central Texas.

As part of IDFA’s commitment to fighting food insecurity, donations of milk, yogurt, and other nutritious dairy products are arriving from Chobani, Danone, Diversified Foods, and LALA. Additionally, key industry supporters including Blue Bell Creameries, H-E-B, IDFA, Leprino Foods, Ever.Ag, Tetra Pak, Stanpac, and Select Milk Producers have contributed financial support to further strengthen food assistance efforts across the region.

“The IDFA Foundation is committed to reducing hunger in Texas and wherever it exists,” said Matt Herrick, Executive Director of the IDFA Foundation. “We are proud to support the San Antonio Food Bank by bringing more than three truckloads of healthy, nutritious milk and dairy products to food-insecure families in the 29 counties served by the food bank in Central Texas. I am grateful to the dairy companies who stepped up to make today’s gifts possible.”

This impactful initiative was highlighted during a donation event at the San Antonio Food Bank warehouse, located at 5200 Historic Old Hwy 90. The event featured a short program, check presentation, and visuals of truckloads of dairy products arriving to support the community.

Speaking at the event were:

  • Eric Cooper, President & CEO, San Antonio Food Bank
  • Matt Herrick, Executive Director, IDFA

With rising food insecurity affecting thousands of families in Texas, these donations will provide essential nutrition to those in need, reinforcing the dairy industry’s commitment to fighting hunger wherever it operates.
