Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa to Host Texas-Sized Celebration for Independence Day
SAN ANTONIO, Tx. (June 28, 2024) – Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, the premier Texas Hill Country resort located only 20 minutes from downtown San Antonio, announces its Independence Day travel experience for guests. The festivities will include an extravagant fireworks display, a resort parade where families can decorate their own floats, historical reenactments, and more.
“We are excited to celebrate the Independence Day holiday with our signature schedule of events,” said Steven J. Smith, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. “Our July 4 celebration has become a beloved annual tradition for many families over the decades. We look forward to welcoming guests for an unforgettable, Texas-sized event that the entire family will love.”
Throughout the week of July 4, the hotel will host an array of fun, family-friendly activities and events for guests to enjoy. On Tuesday evening, July 2, the activity schedule will include a painting class where guests can create their very own patriotic Texas and U.S. flag canvas.
On Wednesday morning, July 3, guests can enjoy historical reenactments and presentations from the Sons of the American Revolution. The organization will meet and greet guests, recount tales from America’s independence, showcase musket firing demonstrations, perform music using fifes and drums, and provide photo opportunities throughout the day.
On Thursday, July 4, families are invited to take part in the resort’s annual holiday parade. Guests can select or bring a wagon or bike to decorate with red, white, and blue bows, ribbons, flags, and more. Later that evening, they will show off their decorated “float” as they are led through the resort parade route by The Order of Granaderos y Damas de Galvez Fife and Drum Corps. Following the parade, the resort will feature an extravagant firework display on its golf course.
Also on July 4, the resort will host its Hill Country Food Fest prior to the fireworks, with a live band and fair-style food for purchase. Over the weekend, guests can join in Fiesta Night with a Live Latin Trio and a Texas BBQ Hoedown with live country music. Food trucks like Mister Softee Ice Cream and Mini Donut Lab will also be available during the day for guests to enjoy.
In addition to the Independence Day festivities, the resort features a premier Texas oasis experience at its five-acre water park which features a 950-foot lazy river, a two-story water slide, multiple pools, and whirlpools. Families can also test their surfing skills at the on-site FlowRider wave simulation machine which creates a barrel-less wave or participate in several recreational activities ranging from sand volleyball to nightly family movies under the stars and s’mores by the fire.
After a day of enjoying the resort’s premier amenities, guests can retreat to their newly-renovated guestroom which showcases a modern and upscale ranch aesthetic. The rooms feature new hardwood flooring, updated technology including 65-inch ultra-high-definition televisions, new walk-in showers with intricate tilework, and new artwork that reflects the resort’s history as the location of the Rogers Wiseman Ranch.
