Head Coach of UTSA Roadrunners football team tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of bowl game Saturday

The UTSA Roadrunners are preparing to play Louisiana-Lafayette Raginโ€™ Cajuns on Saturday. Jeff Traylor, the head coach of the football team has tested positive Wednesday for COVID-19 ahead of the SERVEPRO F1RST Responder Bowl in Dallas. Traylor said that he isn’t experiencing any symptoms and is in self-isolation.

UTSA put out a statement saying that the team is preparing to play without Traylor if he to be cleared for travel with the team before the big game. In the event that Traylor is not cleared, associate head coach / offensive coordinator Barry Lunney Jr. will then serve as the acting head coach for the bowl game.

The game will be aired on ABC at 2:30 p.m.
