San Antonio based H-E-B, Texas’ beloved supermarket chain, is gearing up to celebrate the tenth anniversary of its renowned “Quest for Texas Best” competition. For a decade now, this annual event has been a platform for showcasing the finest Texas-made products, from mouthwatering food and beverages to exceptional home goods and beauty products. The 2023 search has been no exception, drawing in over 600 innovative entries from all corners of the Lone Star State.
With the rigorous review process now complete, ten outstanding products have emerged as the finalists for this milestone year. These extraordinary items will face off before a panel of judges in Dallas on August 9th, in hopes of claiming the top spot in the highly competitive competition.
Among the esteemed finalists is San Antonio’s own Margherita Ciccone and her Sorrento Ristorante Pasta Sauces. From the delectable Puttanesca to the comforting Della Casa and classic Marinara, Ciccone’s pasta sauces have garnered widespread acclaim for their authentic flavors and quality ingredients.
Not only is the Quest for Texas Best a chance for small businesses like Ciccone’s to gain recognition and accolades, but it also offers significant rewards for the winners. With a combined total of $70,000 in cash prizes up for grabs, along with coveted shelf space in H-E-B stores throughout the state, the stakes are high.
Beyond the financial rewards, the Quest for Texas Best has a profound impact on the local business community. Since its inception in 2014, H-E-B has awarded nearly $2 million in prize money to deserving entrepreneurs, while also providing invaluable marketing and mentoring support to help them succeed in the competitive market.
Furthermore, H-E-B’s commitment to supporting local suppliers goes beyond just the winners. The company has recognized and celebrated 50 Quest for Texas Best suppliers who have achieved remarkable success, reaching $1 million in sales. These suppliers were honored with a special commemorative H-E-B Million Dollar Club belt buckle, symbolizing their remarkable achievements and long-standing partnership with H-E-B.
As the excitement builds for the upcoming final round in Dallas, H-E-B invites the media to connect with the finalists and share their inspiring stories. These entrepreneurs embody the true spirit of Texas ingenuity, hard work, and passion for their craft.
H-E-B’s Quest for Texas Best has become more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of the local community, entrepreneurship, and the unique flavors that define Texas. As the supermarket giant continues its unwavering commitment to supporting local businesses, the impact of the Quest for Texas Best will undoubtedly be felt for years to come.
