H-E-B now accepts SNAP EBT payments for delivery and curbside orders

Big announcement from San Antonio based H-E-B on Friday now are allowing customers to use their SNAP EBT accounts to pay for food on delivery and curbside orders. 

In order for a customer to use the service, they must create an account and enter their SNAP EBT information at either HEB.com or the My H-E-B app. Once the registered, the customer could place an order and choose SNAP EBT during the checkout process and enter their PIN number. Their system will ask for a credit, debit, or gift card to charge the items that aren’t eligible on SNAP EBT. 

Shoppers that use online services to shop will be able to filter out SNAP EBT eligible items when searching for products. 

The app and website will let customers know which items are not eligible for SNAP EBT.

“This has been one of the most important initiatives that our team has worked on and we are excited to be able to offer this convenience and service to all of our customers,” Esther Castelo, vice president of H-E-B digital commerce operations, stated in the release.

In most cases, H-E-B offers both same day and next day curbside pickup plus a $4.95 personal shopper fee. Curbside orders will be free if the customer  places the order in advance more than two days out. Home deliveries will include a $5 delivery charge.
