H-E-B Feast of Sharing: Spreading Holiday Joy and Good Food here in San Antonio

Feast of Sharing San Antonio

In the spirit of giving, H-E-B is set to host its annual Feast of Sharing, a heartwarming series of festive gatherings across Texas and Mexico. This cherished tradition, dating back to 1989, has become a cornerstone of H-E-B’s commitment to community well-being, providing over 340,000 free meals during dinners across the Lone Star State.

The San Antonio area of the Feast of Sharing will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in halls 3 and 4, 900 East Market Street, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m on Saturday, December 23, 2023. This event is open to the public, offering a welcoming space for families, friends, and neighbors to come together, share a meal, and celebrate the holiday season.

Volunteers at the event will generously serve up a feast, featuring 3,500 pounds of brisket, 6,750 sausage links, 500 gallons of pinto beans, and 2,800 pounds of potato salad. With more than 14,000 attendees expected, the event promises to be a joyous and communal occasion.

Beyond the delicious offerings, the celebration will feature live music, holiday festivities, and a thoughtful touch from the H-E-B pharmacy team, providing free flu shots and health and wellness screenings to attendees.

This marks the 31st consecutive year of H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing, a testament to the company’s enduring commitment to fostering community bonds and addressing hunger through initiatives like the Food Bank Assistance Program.

As part of their dedication to accessibility, H-E-B sponsors free rides to the event from VIA and VIAtrans. Passengers attending the holiday event can enjoy a free fare by informing the bus operator. VIAtrans customers should follow their regular scheduling procedures. For information on routes and schedules on the event day, riders can contact VIA at 210-362-2020.
