Guayabera Fest Returns to Travis Park for Fifth Annual Celebration of Culture, Community, and Style

SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 27, 2025) — One of San Antonio’s most vibrant pre-Fiesta traditions is back and bigger than ever. Guayabera Fest, the FREE cultural celebration honoring the iconic guayabera shirt, returns for its fifth year on Saturday, April 19, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Travis Park. Now in its second year at this historic downtown location, the event continues to grow in size, spirit, and community impact.
Launched in Peacock Alley in 2020, Guayabera Fest was founded to highlight the deep heritage, elegance, and cultural significance of the guayabera—often called “the shirt of Latin America.” This year’s festival promises even more flavor, rhythm, and flair, featuring over 40 local vendors curated by SA Local Market, offering artisan goods, handcrafted fashion, and signature Fiesta bites.
🎶 A Star-Studded Music Lineup
In partnership with Univision radio stations VIBE 107.5 and 98.5 The Beat, Guayabera Fest brings a dynamic musical showcase to the heart of downtown. Kicking things off is DJ Tone, who will emcee and curate the soundtrack for the day. Movimiento Cumbia, fresh from their SXSW stage, will energize the park with their modern take on classic cumbia rhythms. Following that, Latin Grammy-nominated artist Isabel Marie Sanchez will deliver a powerful performance including Selena tributes and original hits.
The evening wraps with a bang as DJ Laz, the legendary Miami artist behind hits like Sabrosura and Move Shake Drop, headlines the night with a high-energy set that guarantees a dance-filled finale.
🗣️ Voices Behind the Festival
“Guayabera Fest is rapidly establishing itself as a signature event in Downtown San Antonio,” said Trish DeBerry, President and CEO of Centro San Antonio. “Our partnership with Divide and Conquer helps bring this vision to life, while also supporting local businesses and reactivating downtown spaces like Travis Park.”
Javier Treviño, founder of Divide and Conquer Denim & Leather and the visionary behind Guayabera Fest, emphasized the shirt’s cultural impact. “This event is about more than fashion—it’s about storytelling, identity, and honoring generations of heritage through community celebration.”
John Jacks, Director of the Center City Development and Operations Department, added, “Events like Guayabera Fest are exactly the kind of activations we want for Travis Park. It showcases our city’s history and culture while bringing residents together in a shared experience.”
