Gracias Manu night around the corner

March 28, 2019 will be put into the Spurs history books as the number 20 jersey retires and hangs in the rafters inside the AT&T Center. Fans in attendance will receive a commemorative “Gracias Manu” hat.

Tony Parker, who is one of Ginobili’s good friends has been cleared by his current team the Charlotte Hornets to fly to San Antonio and be a speaker during the ceremony on Thursday night.

Ginobili’s jersey will be the ninth jersey to be placed into retirement joining Bruce Bowen (12), Tim Duncan (21), Sean Elliott (32), George Gervin (44), Avery Johnson (6), Johnny Moore (00), David Robinson (50) and James Silas (13).

For 16 seasons, Ginobili had helped the Spurs capture four NBA championships with a career winning percentahe of .721, the best winning percentage in the NBA history among the players who’ve appeared in at least 1,000 games.

Ginobil was selected by the Spurs with the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. There after, Ginobili had appeared in 1,057 games with an average of 13.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.32 steals in 25.4 minutes.
