G.W. Mitchell Construction Marks Over 102 Years of Building Legacy in San Antonio with New Headquarter

G.W. Mitchell Construction, a distinguished family-owned construction company entering its fifth generation, proudly commemorates over a century of building excellence in the heart of San Antonio. To mark this significant milestone, the company is unveiling its brand-new headquarters, signaling its commitment to future growth. The official opening of the expansive 40,000 sq. ft. facility at 1926 Gulfmart St., Suite 201, 78217, is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, at 11:00 a.m.
The state-of-the-art office space, designed to accommodate the company’s expansion, spans 10,000 sq. ft. and boasts an environment featuring abundant natural light, ergonomic furnishings, collaborative workspaces, and the latest advancements in construction technology. Situated above a 10,000 sq. ft. office for Pella Windows and Doors, the shared facility includes a 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse primarily utilized by Pella Windows and Doors.
Founded in 1921 by George W. Mitchell, the construction firm initially built homes on the Southside of San Antonio. It swiftly progressed to constructing larger custom homes and iconic commercial projects, such as The Atkinson Family Estate, now known as The McNay Art Museum.
G.W. Mitchell Construction has played a pivotal role in shaping the city’s architectural landscape, contributing to historical projects like the Laurie Auditorium, South Texas Medical School, and Hemisfair Arena. The company’s diverse portfolio encompasses projects in various sectors, including office spaces, healthcare facilities, industrial complexes, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, municipal structures, hospitality ventures, and residential developments.
