Full Closure of Loop 1604 at I-35 in Northeast San Antonio This Weekend 9/6 – 9/9

As part of the I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) project, a major full weekend closure will affect Loop 1604 at the I-35 interchange in northeast San Antonio. The closures will take place from Friday, September 6th at 9:00 PM until Monday, September 9th at 5:00 AM.

The closures are necessary to install steel girders at the interchange, which is a critical part of the ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and safety in the area.

Closure Details:
Westbound Collector Ramp of Loop 1604 at I-35 will be fully closed.
Northbound Connector Ramp of I-35 to Westbound Loop 1604 will also be fully closed.
Detour Information:
Loop 1604 Westbound to I-35 Southbound

All traffic on Loop 1604 westbound will use the collector ramp to enter the I-35 northbound mainlanes.
Drivers needing I-35 southbound will take Exit 173 to Olympia Parkway, cross the Olympia Parkway bridge, and use the frontage road to access I-35 southbound.
Loop 1604 Westbound to Loop 1604 Westbound

Traffic on Loop 1604 westbound will follow the collector ramp to I-35 northbound, exit at Olympia Parkway (Exit 173), and loop back to the I-35 southbound frontage road.
Re-entry to Loop 1604 westbound will be via the collector ramp after using the frontage road.
I-35 Northbound to Loop 1604 Westbound

Drivers on I-35 northbound will exit at Olympia Parkway (Exit 173) and use the bridge to return to the I-35 southbound frontage road.
Access to Loop 1604 westbound will be via the collector ramp.
