SAN ANTONIO — Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL), the nationally recognized teen driver safety program, is returning to San Antonio for a two-day event offering free hands-on, behind-the-wheel training for young drivers. The program will take place November 15–16, 2025, at Manheim San Antonio, with both morning and afternoon sessions available.
The interactive training, presented by Ford Philanthropy in partnership with the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) and the Texas Department of Transportation, is designed to equip teens with essential skills that go beyond standard driver education. Participants will get behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang as they learn real-world techniques from professional instructors.
The program focuses on critical areas that contribute to teen crashes, including:
-
Dangers of distracted and impaired driving
-
Skid control and recovery
-
Vehicle handling skills
-
Electric scooter safety
-
Hazard recognition
-
Speed and space management
Teens must have a driving permit or license to participate.
“Ford Driving Skills for Life is all about giving young drivers the hands-on experience they need to stay safe on the road,” program leaders said. “We’re excited to return to San Antonio and provide this valuable training to local teens at no cost to families.”
Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their teens early, as sessions typically fill quickly.
