Former KSAT anchor and reporter Rosenda Rios dead at 62

She was a familiar face on KSAT 12, a local news station in San Antonio and also a radio journalist. It was reported that Rosenda Rios had died the morning of Thursday (July 16) in Houston, TX.

Rios had appeared on television during 2001 to 2010 working for KSAT as an anchor and also an investigative journalist for the news station’s “The Defenders” team.

In 2010, Rios had left the news for a job leading the digital content strategist team at USAA’s communications department.

Today, KSAT began their newscast differently. They reported that Rosenda Rios lost her battle with cancer this morning with family by her side at a hospice in Houston.

Leslie Mouton, a co-anchor with KSAT sent her condolences via Facebook.

“My heart is heavy with the news of the passing of Rosenda Rios. We worked together for many years and I was honored to call her my friend. She was a true bright light in a world of chaos. She was always positive, kind and encouraging to all. She will be greatly missed.”
