The 2-day Fiesta event Oyster Bake was supposed to take place this April. Due to substantial COVID-19 cases and a responsibility to protect the community from transmission of the deadly virus, the annual event for 2021 has been cancelled. The event organizers publicly posted the news on their official Facebook page.
โI am sad to announce that we are canceling Fiesta Oyster Bake 2021 due to the substantial numbers of COVID-19 cases in our region,โ said Joe L. Vela Jr. (B.A.M. โ06), president of the association. โWe cannot risk impacting the health of our campus residents, alumni and the community by scheduling the event this spring. We will return next year stronger and more focused on continuing a better and safer celebration.โ
So save the 2022 dates for April 1 – 2nd! All of SA will be monitoring for any additional cancellations from other Fiesta 2021 events.
