SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Recently, we visited the renowned Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, located at 9800 Hyatt Resort Drive, just minutes from SeaWorld San Antonio. He experienced firsthand the resort’s inviting charm, modern renovations, and extensive amenities designed to offer a relaxing and unforgettable Hill Country escape.
During his stay, We enjoyed the comfort of a fully renovated King Bed room with a private patio. The 392-square-foot space featured contemporary ranch-inspired aesthetics, highlighted by warm neutral tones, stylish hardwood flooring, a plush chaise lounge, and locally curated Texas artwork. The private patio came complete with two chairs and a side table, perfect for enjoying a serene morning or peaceful evening.
Room amenities also included a luxurious Beautyrest Black mattress, a 65” smart HDTV equipped with Chromecast streaming, individual climate control, a coffee maker with complimentary tea and coffee, mini fridge, hairdryer and makeup mirror, iron and ironing board, and an in-room safe.
Dining Experiences
The resort boasts several dining options, ranging from casual eateries to upscale dining. We recommends the newly renovated Antlers Lodge, an upscale steakhouse ideal for dinner (reservations recommended). Antlers Lodge operates from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and until 9:30 PM on Friday and Saturday, with a resort-casual dress code.
For all-day dining, the Springhouse Café offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets daily. Charlie’s Long Bar, open daily, provides guests a relaxing setting to unwind with drinks and casual bites. Woodbine Bar, the resort’s newest lobby bar, serves a carefully curated menu of tapas and refreshing cocktails, welcoming guests daily from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Near the Hill Country Golf Club, Cactus Oak Tavern offers a full bar and casual fare from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Those enjoying the resort’s pools can indulge in food and beverages delivered right to their lounge chairs from Papa Ed’s Pool Bar & Grill or Vince’s Watering Hole, which recently reopened for the season.
Relaxation and Rejuvenation at Windflower Spa
The resort’s Windflower Spa, temporarily located in the Hill Country Suite during renovations, provides rejuvenating massages, facials, and body treatments. Spa guests have access to the adults-only Texas pool and hot tub. Windflower Spa is open daily from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with complimentary pastries, snacks, and beverages available.
Award-Winning Golf Course
Golf enthusiasts can tee off at the Hill Country Golf Club, a stunning 27-hole championship course designed by Arthur Hills. Set across 200 acres, it features scenic views, GPS-equipped golf carts, practice facilities, and professional instruction. Guests can also enjoy food and beverages at the adjacent Cactus Oak Tavern.
Water Park and Resort Amenities
The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort offers a remarkable 5-acre water park featuring a winding lazy river, multiple pools, a two-story water slide, and the FlowRider wave simulation machine. The resort also provides luxurious poolside cabanas for added comfort.
Exciting new features are on the horizon, including private luxury Villas opening in May 2025 and a spectacular 2.2-acre Crystal Lagoon, scheduled to debut in September 2025. Additionally, an indoor-outdoor Event Barn with picturesque lagoon views will be available beginning November 2025.
