The City of San Antonio’s Official Jazz Music Festival is ensuring Jazz Is Alive in San Antonio!
General admission is FREE, all ages, and open to the public! No outside food or beverage is allowed. No coolers are allowed. Bags are subject to search. Tickets are available for premium seating and VIP areas.
Jazz’SAlive VIP Experience Package ($1,500 per table/per day) The 2024 Jazz’SAlive VIP Experience, sold as a table for eight (8) includes complimentary beverages and bites.
Single-Day ‘Patron Seats’ ($60 per person/per day) Jazz’SAlive offers a limited number of premium Patron Seats at the main stage for those who want to upgrade their viewing experience and leave the lawn chairs at home. Patron Seats are sold as single-day tickets. Fans who wish to have a Patron Seat on both Friday and Saturday will need to purchase a ticket for each day. Each ticket includes 1 priority seat near the main stage in Civic Park with access to a cash bar and cocktail service.
All ticket purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Friday Talent Lineup
Patrice Rushen, an award-winning musician and composer who is also one of the most sought-after artists in the music industry. She is a classically trained pianist who originally found success in the 70’s and 80’s with her signature fusion of jazz, pop and R&B. During this era, she composed and recorded the hit song, “Forget Me Nots,” which has been frequently covered and sampled by other artists. Rushen is also a four-time Grammy nominee who has composed scores for movies and television. She has been the first female musical director for many of the entertainment industry’s top award shows, which include the Grammy Awards, the Emmy Awards, the People’s Choice Awards, the NAACP Image Awards and HBO’s “Comic Relief V.” Considered one of the world’s top jazz pianists, she has performed with many artists. Among them such esteemed names as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Prince, Nancy Wilson, Ndugu Chancler, Carlos Santana, Christian McBride and Lee Ritenour. She is a record producer and an award-winning composer of symphonic music, some of which was commissioned by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Rushen is the” Ambassador of Artistry In Education” at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, and has been the Chair of the Popular Music Program at USC’s Thornton School of Music from 2013 till 2023. Rushen also spends time working with the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, NARAS “Grammy In The Schools” program and other organizations dedicated to establishing music education and mentorship programs for underprivileged youth.

Dan Ryan Quartet, accomplished guitarist, composer and arranger, and is the musician solely responsible for the composition, production, performance and visual design for the recordings of Sol Luna y las Estrellas.
USAF Band of the West featuring Steven Feifke, at 31, he’s the youngest-ever bandleader to win a Grammy in Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album at the 2023 Grammys.

Elliott Yamin, Eric Marienthal & Chieli Minucci make their return
to Jazz’SAlive on Saturday, September 28 in
support of their August 2024 album & video release AMPLIFY.
The new release is a major evolution for the group and includes 5 new original
vocals and 4 new original instrumentals, with an all-star cast. The project was
recorded and filmed all LIVE at legendary EastWest Studios in Hollywood with
simultaneous 7-camera video shoot and a legendary cast of musicians. Joining
keyboardist, bandleader and former “Best New Jazz Artist” nominee, Lao
Tizer for the concert are American Idol star, Elliott
Yamin – vocals, Grammy-winning sax legend, Eric
Marienthal (Chick Corea, Elton John), guitarist, producer and 3x Emmy winner,
Chieli Minucci (Special EFX), Grammy-winning percussion
legend, Munyungo Jackson (Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder), drum
phenom Tony Austin (Kamasi Washington) and Rolling Stone 2022
“Bassist of the Year” nominee, Anthony Crawford (Erykah Badu, Jeff

Catching Daylight sextet, under the leadership of trumpeter Adrian Ruiz, is a group comprised of musicians who will pay tribute to the legacies of saxophonist Richard García and electric bassist Jim Kalson.
Kate Kortum, 22 year old jazz vocalist and instrumentalist from Houston TX.
Nina and the Gypsies, an energetic collective of independent artists and friends who passionately embrace the music of the Gypsy Kings, Paco de Lucia, and diverse artists, crafting a distinctive fusion of passion, creativity, and artistic expression.”
St. Mary’s University Jazz Orchestra, directed by educator and contemporary jazz artist, Dr. Adrian Ruiz, coordinator of the St. Mary’s University Fiesta Jazz Festival, and professor of trumpet and composition.
Bradley Middle School Jazz ensemble, consistently won top honors at local and out of city jazz festivals and competitions. The Bradley Jazz Ensemble is directed by Karlos Elizondo and Miguel Vilas.
