SAN ANTONIO, TX โ€“ July 30, 2025 โ€” The City of San Antonio is bringing vibrant, family-friendly fun to downtown this August with a full lineup of free events at Historic Market Square, La Villita Historic Arts Village, and along Houston Street. From summer bashes to creative workshops and live entertainment, residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the season and the back-to-school spirit in the heart of the city.

Historic Market Square Events (514 W. Commerce St.)

Market Square Summer Bash
Saturday, August 2 | 10 a.m. โ€“ 6 p.m. | Free
Celebrate the end of summer with a day full of excitement including live music, food and artisan vendors, a hula hoop competition, games, and school supply giveaways from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (while supplies last).

Labor Day Celebration
August 30 โ€“ September 1 | 10 a.m. โ€“ 6 p.m. | Free
Ring in Labor Day weekend with a three-day celebration featuring live entertainment, local eats, and artisan shopping.

Weekend Programming
Every Saturday and Sunday in August | 10 a.m. โ€“ 6 p.m. | Free
Enjoy live music, working artists, and flavorful food booths all month long.

La Villita Events (418 Villita St.)

Capistrano Soap Companyโ€™s โ€œSunday in the Cityโ€ Workshops
Sundays in August | 1 p.m. & 2 p.m. | Free
Learn how to craft skincare (Aug. 3), natural soap (Aug. 10), candles (Aug. 17), and perfume (Aug. 24) with La Villitaโ€™s local artisans. Reservations are encouraged due to limited supplies.

Dancing in the Dark โ€“ During the Day!
Sundays in August | 11 a.m. โ€“ 2 p.m. | Free
Take part in free dance lessons led by local choreographer Jeremy Zipagan, followed by lunch and shopping at the village.

Downtown on Houston Street

Thursdays, August 7 & 21 | 11 a.m. โ€“ 2 p.m.
