SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 19, 2025) – San Antonio’s beloved El Grito celebration returns to Historic Market Square this September, bringing three days of vibrant culture, music, and tradition. Hosted by the Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio, the event highlights Mexico’s Independence with a civic ceremony, folkloric performances, and a weekend festival filled with food, art, and entertainment.
El Grito Cultural Program & Civic Ceremony

The celebration opens with a cultural showcase featuring live Mexican music and traditional folkloric dancers. The evening culminates in the official El Grito civic ceremony, led by the Consulate General of Mexico in San Antonio — a symbolic cry of independence that marks one of the most significant traditions in Mexican culture.
Fiestas Patrias Weekend at Market Square

Presented by LULAC with support from Univisión, Fiestas Patrias Weekend transforms Market Square into a lively festival hub. Guests can enjoy two stages of nonstop entertainment, authentic Mexican cuisine from local food vendors, artisan crafts, and family-friendly activities celebrating Mexican heritage.
