San Antonio, TX – August 23, 2024 — In a heartwarming display of community service, East SAFFE Officers Trevino and Salinas recently went above and beyond their call of duty to assist a local family in need. On August 20th, the officers responded to a situation involving the great-grandmother and guardian of two pre-kindergarten students. The family had been without air conditioning for several weeks, enduring the sweltering Texas heat.
Thanks to a generous donation from a local school, the officers were able to secure an AC window unit for the family. Without hesitation, Officers Trevino and Salinas personally installed the unit, bringing much-needed relief to the household.
While at the home, the officers noticed that the family’s refrigerator was not working properly, adding further stress to their situation. Demonstrating their commitment to the community, the officers returned to the home on August 23rd with a brand-new refrigerator, which they donated and installed for the family.
The actions of Officers Trevino and Salinas exemplify the guiding principles of the San Antonio Police Department: compassion, integrity, fairness, and respect. Their selfless efforts to support a family in need highlight the department’s mission to serve the public with unwavering dedication.
A huge thank you goes out to the entire East SAFFE unit, especially Officers Trevino and Salinas, for their generosity and hard work. Their actions serve as a reminder of the positive impact that law enforcement can have on the community when they go above and beyond their duties.
