Dunkin’ Spreads Holiday Cheer with Military Family Reunion in San Antonio

Duncan San Antonio Military Christmas Reunion

In the true spirit of the holiday season, Dunkin’ orchestrated a heartwarming reunion for the McClanahan family, a local San Antonio military family of four. The McClanahan patriarch, a dedicated member of the United States Air Force since 2004, has faced numerous deployments and duties, leaving little time for the family to reconnect with extended relatives. The children, in particular, hadn’t seen their grandparents in several years.

Yesterday, December 21, at 2:00 p.m., Dunkin’ went above and beyond to create a surprise family reunion at the San Antonio International Airport. The event, inspired by Dunkin’s “Home for the Holidays” campaign, aimed to bring sweetness and joy to families across the nation through heartwarming gestures and, of course, donuts.

Rolling out the pink carpet, Dunkin’ welcomed the McClanahan children’s grandparents with festive donuts, vibrant orange and pink balloons, and the beloved Dunkin’ mascot, Cuppy. The surprise reunion not only exemplifies the brand’s commitment to spreading holiday cheer but also provides an exclusive look into the lives of military families and the emotional reunions they experience.

About the McClanahan Family:

Robert (Rob) McClanahan enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2004, and in 2010, he met Meghan Connolly. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed their daughter in 2013 and son in 2015. Stationed in Italy for several years and navigating a move back to the States during the challenges of COVID-19 in 2020, visiting the Connolly grandparents in Boston became virtually impossible. With another move on the horizon for 2024, a holiday trip to see their grandparents seemed out of reach. Dunkin’s surprise reunion brought the McClanahan family a touching and unexpected holiday celebration, capturing the essence of the season.
