Downtown San Antonio to get brighter

StreetLight

On February 8, 2018 the San Antonio City Council unanimously approved a lighting study with professional company Alderson Associates, Inc. and to develop a master plan to light up downtown better.

District 1 Councilman Roberto C. Treviño said in a statement:

“Lighting plays a vital role with regard to public safety, accessibility, place-making and our quality of life. It is with much excitement that I announce the approval of a contract with Alderson and Associates to develop San Antonio’s first Downtown Lighting Master Plan.

Next, Alderson and Associates will work with the King William and Lavaca neighborhoods as well as Downtown stakeholders to develop a plan that will serve as a guide for better illuminating corridors and neighborhoods across the city.

I am grateful for the help of Paula Gold Williams and John Leal with CPS Energy. The financial support provided by CPS Energy was instrumental to the creation of the Downtown Lighting Master Plan.

Today’s vote is only the first step to creating a lighting plan for the entire city and the next step in creating a City by Design.”

So we’ll expect to see changes happen soon.
