Dallas based Velvet Taco to open up two locations in San Antonio
CEO Clay Dover of Dallas based Velvet Taco has announced plans on opening two San Antonio locations this year. One of the locations will take place at the newly renovated building formerly known as Tacoland across from The Historic Pearl complex. The second location will be at The Rim in a brand-new building.
Plans are to open up The Rim location (5515 N Loop 1604 W # 105 San Antonio, TX 78232) on February 22nd and the one by The Pearl (103 W Grayson Street San Antonio, TX 78212) on March 22nd.
The one-of-a-kind taco concept serves premium food in a fast and casual setting. They have a nice variety of tacos and other Tex-Mex options on the menu such as chicken, veggie, pork, beef, fish and brunch that’s served all day.
If you want to snack, they have their sides option that doesn’t disappoint such as queso blanco, red curry coconut queso, ‘Elote’ corn, crisp tots topped with a local egg and barbacoa beef nachos.
One of their concepts is their infamous “Backdoor Chicken“, which is a whole chicken that is brined and marinated in-house for 48 hours. Then Velvet Taco roasts it in their rotisserie oven over an open flame. They serve it with 6 corn tortillas, roasted corn pico and 2 sides of ‘Elote’ corn, 1 container of heat sauce and a Valentina sauce all for $20.
