There’s good news for CPS Energy customers. The San Antonio greater utility provider has announced on Tuesday, September 28, 2022 that they will distribute the $42.5 million in rebates to customer’s bills in December.
This decision followed the city council’s efforts on how to spend this “surplus revenue”.
About how much will I get?
CPS Energy says that the average customer will get around a $29 credit towards their bill in the month of December. The specific amount depends on the amount of energy used from July 2022. Those customers who had used 1,000 kilowatt hours will get about an $18 credit, as an example. Those who had used 1Kw to 2Kw hours will receive a credit ranging from $18 to $36. The highest credit that a customer could receive would be $72, if their kilowatt hours were around 4,000.
For those customers that decided they don’t want the December credit can opt out starting in November. The credit they would have received would go to either payment assistance for those people who have a difficult making regular monthly payments, or ongoing weatherization efforts.
