Cortez family expanding restaurant business to The Rim area

For over 75 years, the Cortez family has called downtown San Antonio and Market Square for their La Familia Cortez Restaurants such as Mi Tierra y Panadería & Mariachi bar, La Margarita Restaurant & Oyster Bar, Pico de Gallo, and Viva Villa Taqueria.

Now, the family announces that they will be taking over the former La Fonda building at The Rim on the Northside of San Antonio.

Few details were revealed but their new restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with an all-star menu from their other locations. Also, the new location will feature a stellar bar that serves up craft cocktails, beer and their famous margaritas.

Mi Tierra will provide those made-daily bakery treats to the new expanded location.

The name of the restaurant and the grand opening date is not yet known.

The company has already posted up 50 job postings online.
