The City of San Antonio Solid Waste Management will be holding their household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, November 21 from 8 a.m. till 12 p.m. at the Rigsby drop off center (2755 Rigsby Rd.).
Just make sure that you bring your CPS Energy bill and a picture I.D. with you as proof of residency.
Here are some things to know before you go:
They accept things like oil, paint, pesticides, anti-freeze, batteries, and household cleaners such as bleach, ammonia and cleaners.
Please keep contents in the original containers and never mix any solutions together.
If you have a leaky container, it is advised to safely transfer the contents into a new, empty container and label it for identification.
If contents cannot be safely transferred, place in a double heavy duty plastic garbage bag.
Place items in a box if you can then either put them in your trunk or the bed of your pickup truck.
Never place hazardous waste inside your garbage cart or pour it on the ground or down any storm or drains.
