City of New Braunfels closes parks and postpones fireworks show

New Braunfels, TX – The city announced social media that they will be closing their river parks along the Comal River and Guadalupe River noon today. These closures are in effort and align with Governor Greg Abbott’s new orders issued this morning to stop any rafting or commercial tubing. Also, no more than 100 people to gather in one spot.

Parks affected:

  • Prince Solms Park
  • Hinman Island
  • River Acres Park
  • Cypress Bend Park
In addition, any city owned riverfront property that is controlled by or maintained by the City of New Braunfels will also be closed. These closures include the wading pool in Landa Park, the Garden St. Exit, the Last Public Exit, and under the Faust Street Bridge.
The 4th of July fireworks show in Landa Park has also been postponed to an undetermined date later.
