City of Kerrville Prepares for Kerrville Total Eclipse Festival 2024

As the celestial event of a total solar eclipse approaches, the City of Kerrville is gearing up to welcome visitors for an unforgettable experience on April 8, 2024. To facilitate the influx of guests, the City’s Parks and Recreation Department has announced details for the Kerrville Eclipse Festival and designated viewing locations at the Kerrville Sports Complex. Kerrville, Texas is a prime destination as they’re located within the totality times of 4 minutes and 24 seconds. They’re predicting an influx amount of spectators from around surrounding areas and from all over the U.S.

Kerrville Eclipse Festival Parking:

For convenient event access, off-site paid parking is available at Tivy High School, located at 3250 TX-534 Loop, for $60 per vehicle. Registration for off-site parking opened on February 27, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. CST. Early registrants can secure their spot at www.kerrvilletx.gov/eclipsefestival. It’s crucial to note that at-the-gate sales will not be available on the day of the event. The parking cost will increase to $100 per vehicle on March 11 at 8:30 a.m. CST, emphasizing the importance of securing parking early.

A shuttle service will transport attendees from Tivy High School to the Kerrville Eclipse Festival in Louise Hays Park. Parking at Tivy High School is exclusive to festival attendees, and staying on-site for eclipse viewing is prohibited. Shuttles will commence operations at 8:00 a.m., ensuring ample time for guests to arrive before totality. The parking lot opens at 7:30 a.m., and early arrival is recommended. Shuttle operations will temporarily pause from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Limited free parking is available on a first-come-first-serve basis in the Parking Garage at 201 Clay St. in Downtown Kerrville. Additionally, the parking lot at the Butt Holdsworth Memorial Library, 505 Water St., offers free first-come-first-serve accessible parking with a state-issued disability plate or placard. Roadside parking is strictly prohibited.

Kerrville Sports Complex Eclipse Viewing Location:

For those opting for a different experience, parking spaces to view the eclipse at the Kerrville Sports Complex are available. Priced at $75 per vehicle until March 11 at 8:30 a.m. CST, the passes guarantee a parking space and access to spacious sports fields for eclipse enjoyment. The Sports Complex offers restrooms, water access, and a limited food vendor on both sides. Prices increase to $100 per vehicle after the specified date, and gates open at 8:00 a.m. Unfortunately, there will be no shuttle service to the Kerrville Eclipse Festival from this location.
