The City of San Antonio had held their Thursday morning meeting to discuss the 7th declaration of the public health emergency “Stay Home, Work Safe” extension until 11:59 p.m. on June 4, 2020.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg and city council members motioned to extend local orders to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 being consistent with Governor Greg Abbott’s order placed on Monday.
Council members spoke in the meeting stating that citizens will not face any penalties for not wearing face coverings but encouraged the community to wear them to help combat the spread of the virus.
They clarified that private businesses such as a store can have the option of requiring their customers to cover their faces before entering and doesn’t violate the governor’s order.
