San Antonio native and guitarist Chris Pérez had surprised the staff over at La Maceta Tapatios this past weekend. Claimed as the only Tapatios spot in town takes over the kitchen at Picks Bar Thursday through Sunday, 4 to 10 p.m.
They weren’t expecting Chris to take them by surprise. Chris had wrapped up a performance with Grupo Metal and worked up an appetite. Chris wasn’t looking for the traditional tapatios that are made with beef and topped with cabbage and Mexican crema. Chris was looking for something vegetarian. In luck chef Jessica Torres hooked him up with her veggie mini taco plate for Chris. It’s filled with fresh avocado, tomato, onion, cabbage and cilantro.
Chris had taken the time to talk with the staff and even snapped a few pics which they had on their bucket list.
