ATLANTA โ Chick-fil-A is stepping deeper into Southern comfort cuisine with the launch of a long-discussed menu item: a chicken and waffles sandwich. But before fans across the country rush to their nearest location, the company is rolling out the new offering in limited markets โ and San Antonio is one of them.
The Atlanta-based fast-food chain confirmed that it will begin testing two versions of the new sandwich beginning Dec. 1, with availability running through Jan. 24, while supplies last.
According to Chick-fil-A, select Baltimore-area locations will offer both a โChicken & Waffles Breakfast Sandwichโ and a โChicken & Waffles Sandwich.โ Meanwhile, certain San Antonio restaurants will participate in the testing by offering only the Chicken & Waffles Breakfast Sandwich.
The move expands Chick-fil-Aโs exploration of Southern-inspired comfort foods, adding a highly anticipated blend of crispy chicken and golden waffles to its menu โ a pairing many fans have been requesting for years.
The company did not specify which San Antonio locations will participate, but the test launch is expected to draw strong early-morning interest from locals eager to sample the limited-time breakfast item.
For now, the rest of the country will have to wait and see if the new dish earns a nationwide debut.
