SAN ANTONIO (March 3, 2026) โ The City of San Antonio is inviting families, students and visitors to spend spring break in the heart of downtown with a lineup of fun, free events at Historic Market Square, La Villita Historic Arts Village and along Houston Street.
From hands-on crafts and dance nights to festive river celebrations and live music, March brings something for everyone. While enjoying the events, visitors are encouraged to explore the unique shops and restaurants inside Market Square and La Villita for one-of-a-kind finds.

Sana Sunday: Taekwondo Self-Defense
Sunday, March 8 | 10 a.m. โ noon | Free
Start the morning with a complimentary taekwondo self-defense class led by Chris Navarro of Navarro’s Taekwondo Academy.
Craft Tuesday: Decorated Planter Pots
Tuesday, March 10 | 6 โ 8 p.m. | Free
Head to the Cos House for a family-friendly DIY evening. Participants will decorate a planter pot and receive a complimentary succulent to take home. Registration is required, and all supplies are provided. Downtown Tuesday free parking begins at 5 p.m. in City-owned garages and lots.
St. Patrickโs Day Festival & River Parade
Saturday, March 15 & Sunday, March 16 | Free
In partnership with Visit San Antonio and The Harp & Shamrock Society of Texas, the River Walk will host a festive weekend celebration. Highlights include the river dyed green with eco-friendly dye, artisan vendors, live entertainment and more along the San Antonio River Walk.

Enjoy free dance lessons in Maverick Plaza for a lively date night or evening out with friends. Guests are encouraged to grab dinner or drinks from nearby restaurants beforehand.

Downtown can get busy during spring break. Visitors are encouraged to consider public transportation, rideshare, biking or walking. VIA Metropolitan Transit offers bus routes, Park & Ride options for major events and its Link ride-sharing service within the downtown zone.
