Cedar Fair and Six Flags Announce Senior Management Team for Combined Company Post-Merger

SANDUSKY, Ohio & ARLINGTON, Texas—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE: FUN) (“Cedar Fair”) and Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: SIX) (“Six Flags”) today unveiled the senior management team set to lead the merged entity following the completion of their previously announced merger of equals (the “Mergers”).
As stated earlier, Richard Zimmerman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Fair, will become President and Chief Executive Officer of the combined company, while Selim Bassoul, President and Chief Executive Officer of Six Flags, will assume the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Post-merger, the following leaders will report directly to Zimmerman:
– Tim Fisher, Chief Operating Officer (currently COO at Cedar Fair)
– Brian Witherow, Chief Financial Officer (currently CFO at Cedar Fair)
– Brian Nurse, Chief Legal & Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary (currently in the same position at Cedar Fair)
– Christian Dieckmann, Chief Strategy Officer (currently in the same position at Cedar Fair)
– Gary Mick, Chief Integration Officer (currently Executive Vice President and CFO at Six Flags)

The Mergers are expected to close on July 1, 2024, pending the satisfaction or waiver of various conditions outlined in the merger agreement, including regulatory approvals. Following the merger, the combined entity will operate under the name Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, trade under the ticker symbol “FUN” on the NYSE, and be structured as a C Corporation. The headquarters will be located in Charlotte, North Carolina, with significant finance and administrative operations maintained in Sandusky, Ohio.
This merger impacts two San Antonio area parks: Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, ensuring continued high-quality amusement park experiences under the new leadership team.
