Burger Showdown 5.0: San Antonio’s Top Chefs Compete at Alamo Beer to Benefit Gardopia Gardens

Homegrown Chef has partnered with The Flavors of Texas (San Antonio Restaurants Group) to present the 5th annual BURGER SHOWDOWN 5.0, a highly anticipated burger competition where San Antonio’s top chefs go head-to-head, and the public gets to indulge. The event is set to take place at Alamo Beer on Friday, October 18th, from 7-10 p.m., with proceeds benefiting local nonprofit Gardopia Gardens.

Ten chefs (line-up below) will serve up 10 gourmet sliders, while Krazy Katsu will offer their signature Kimchi Fries. Dessert will be provided by Texas Cookie Shop, known for their delicious scratch-made cookies. The outdoor event invites all of San Antonio to enjoy a unique, one-night-only burger extravaganza.

Adding to the fun, Alamo Beer will host karaoke, provided by Irish Cowboy Productions Karaoke. Guests are encouraged to join in, and sometimes even the competing chefs get on stage to sing.

This year’s competition will be both audience-voted and judged by a panel featuring Alan Williams (of Flavors of Texas), alongside local influencers San Antonio Stephanie and Joe The Lost Local.

Limited VIP tickets are available for $100. VIP guests receive early access to the event, one drink ticket, and a plant from Gardopia Gardens. Drinks are available for purchase at Alamo Beer, with the exception of VIP ticket holders who get one complimentary drink.

Proceeds from BURGER SHOWDOWN 5.0 will support Gardopia Gardens’ efforts to educate local schoolchildren about gardening and healthy eating.
