Broadway Closure Notification for ‘1923’ TV Production

The San Antonio Film Commission, a division of the City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture, is collaborating with the high-profile Paramount+ series 1923, a prequel to the hit show Yellowstone. To facilitate filming for this much-anticipated production, several road closures and detours will occur along Broadway between Pecan and Houston Streets, including E. Travis St. and Peacock Alley from Jefferson to N. Alamo St., during the week of September 16, 2024.

Road & Sidewalk Closures:
The following timeline outlines anticipated closures and impacts. Please plan accordingly as delays are expected during this period.

September 6 – 15, 2024:

Roads and sidewalks will remain open.
Street parking will be closed on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Travis St.
September 16 – 18, 2024:

Sidewalks will remain open.
Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Houston St. will be closed to vehicular traffic.
Peacock Alley and E. Travis St. will be closed between Jefferson St. and N. Alamo St.
Northbound traffic only on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and 3rd St.
September 19, 2024 (Filming Day):

Morning filming will result in sidewalk closures on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and E. Houston St. with expected reopening in the early afternoon.
Vehicular traffic will be blocked on Broadway, Peacock Alley, and E. Travis St.
Businesses in the area will remain open and accessible, except for the morning of September 19, when accommodations will be made for stakeholders.
September 20 – 25, 2024:

Sidewalks will remain open.
Vehicular traffic closures will continue on Broadway, Peacock Alley, and E. Travis St.
Northbound traffic only on Broadway between E. Pecan St. and 3rd St.
By or before September 27, 2024:

All road closures and detours will be lifted, and regular services will resume.
Detours & Considerations:
Closure dates may change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to plan alternate routes and expect delays in the downtown area during these dates.
