Brett Brown is returning to the San Antonio Spurs as assistant coach
The San Antonio Spurs is bringing back a familiar face back into the game. After almost 10-years, Brett Brown is returning to work alongside Coach Gregg Popovich.
The Spurs had made the official announcement on their social media pages. Before the announcement, Adrian Wojnarowski had made a post to Twitter.
“Brett Brown has agreed to return to San Antonio to join Gregg Popovich’s staff as an assistant coach, sources tell ESPN. Brown spent 2007-2013 on Popovich’s staff before becoming the 76ers coach. They’ve maintained a close relationship,”
The Spurs had a vacancy since WNBA superstar and former assistant coach Becky Hammon had accepted a job with the Las Vegas Aces as the head coach for the 2021 – 2022 season.
Brown is familiar with the Spurs operations since he was with the team for 11 seasons starting in 2002 running until 2013.
